INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVING TAPE TAB HAIR EXTENSIONS
AND USE OF BOARD

What You’ll Need

  • Extension Expert tool (included)

  • Tape-Tab solvent remover

  • Separator comb (included)

  • 2 Alligator clips (included)

  • Tape-tab scraper (included)

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner or hair protectant spray

  • Hair extension tape-tabs

  • Blow dryer

  • Towel or towelettes

Step: 1   Prepare for Removal

  • Apply the solvent remover to the hair extensions. Wait a few minutes to let it work. The solvent works best when you give it time to soak in.

  • Section your hair: Start at the back of your head, then work your way to the top and sides. You can use the alligator clips to divide your hair into sections.

Step 2:  Remove the Hair Extensions

  • Start removing from the back of your head and work towards the front.

  •  After you remove each extension, place it in the Extension Expert Panel (included). Put the tape-tab side up, with the sticky part facing up.

  •  Secure the extension: Gently press the clip down to hold the extension in place. Make sure the tape tab is within the pink area near the clip. This gives you more room to work.

Step 3:   Remove the Existing Tape-Tabs

  • Once all extensions are in the panel, spray more tape-tab remover on each extension. Wait about 3 minutes.

  • Scrape off the tape-tabs using the scraper that came in your kit. Be gentle but firm.

Step 4:  Wash the Hair Extensions

  • After the tape-tabs are gone, wash the extensions with shampoo. Clean both sides, but don’t worry about the area under the clip—it has teeth to let water through.

  • Rinse well and dry the extensions. You can let them air dry or use a blow dryer to dry them faster.

Step 5: Re-Tape the Extensions

  • Once the extensions are completely dry, apply new tape-tabs to the extensions.

Step 6: Store Your Extensions

  • Store your clean, re-taped extensions in the protective bag until you're ready to take them to your hairstylist for reapplication.

  • Place your tools and accessories in the smaller bag and keep everything together for next time.

That's it!   You're ready for your next hair extension application!
